    "content": "Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. Pursuant to Standing Order No. 44(2)(c), I wish to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare regarding the dependants of people living with disability. Most of the persons living with disability have healthy children and others with special needs. These children require basic needs like food, shelter, clothing and health care. It is noted that their parents are low income earners, or have no income and are, therefore, unable to provide for these children. In the Statement the Chairperson should report on the measures the Government is taking to ensure the dependants get the minimum basic needs; and whether the Government can consider expanding the mandate of the national fund for the disabled in Kenya to cater for these dependants."
