Deputy Speaker, the Chairman of the Committee should inquire into and report on the following:- The number of people who have died of cancer related to petroleum drilling in northern Kenya since 1989 since the first case was reported. Secondly, a report on the action the Government has taken to pursue the matter and if any research and investigations were ever done. The report should be tabled in this House. Fourthly, I seek to know what the Government is doing to mitigate the situation given the fact that drilling for oil is currently going on in various parts of northern Kenya specifically in Laisamis, Turkana, Maikona and in the next two months, Wajir."
