    "content": "Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I want to say that insurance is a very important sector in the whole country because of the many risks that are in the world. This Bill is seeking to strengthen the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA). As you very well know, very many companies have actually gone under because the IRA did not have enough powers. This Bill is now seeking to give more powers to the IRA in the manner that they will be able to check the way these companies are run. They will actually make sure that the companies do better bookkeeping so that they do not go under. So, I think this the right time to have this Bill amended to make sure that our insurance companies operate in the best way possible.
