"content": "been suffering for a long time. However, the Government has taken a long time to recognize these people. These people are our grandfathers, fathers and uncles. Most of them, are Mau Mau veterans. These are people who fought for the Independence of this country and wasted their time in the concentration camps. When they came back, they did not get their land. They did not go to schools, therefore, they were unable to get any employment. As such, they are languishing in the villages with nothing to eat. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to support this Motion because it will help our people age gracefully. If you visit other countries like America and Britain, somebody who is 70 years old looks like a 40 year old. This is because their governments have taken care of him. He lives comfortably. He is able to dress properly, access clean water and medicine, among other basic necessities."
