    "content": "Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Motion and many of the things that my colleagues have said. I want to add that when the Bill is being drafted, we should keep in mind inflation. Let us use the sum of Kshs2,000 or whatever figure we decide on as a base and then link it to the consumer price index so that every year, it is adjusted according to the inflation rate. Otherwise, the Kshs2,000 will quickly be eroded and become a meaningless gesture and not a meaningful help. I remember just a few months ago, I bought a bundle of unga for Kshs850, but yesterday, it was Kshs1,350. So, that is a huge jump for someone on Kshs2,000."
