    "content": " Hon. Senators, the Chair is aware of the invitations. I agree with you that the method which they used to bring the invitations to the attention of hon. Senators may not have been the most appropriate. However, given the need for hon. Senators to be apprised on the mandate and responsibilities of some of these independent commissions, we have agreed we will be able to attend the meeting. But in future, it is important for all parties that are interested in dealing with the Senate to contact the offices of the Speaker or the Clerk before they engage the individual hon. Senators.
