    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support this Motion. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I agree with my colleagues that some of the Standing Committees that we have listed here – they are seven in number – are so huge that if we leave them the way they are, we are not going to perform as required by this House. I remember in my previous life as a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Public Works a situation where Ministries would queue to see the Committees of Parliament. So, it may be appropriate that we amend them. For example, the first one is the Committee on Agriculture, Land and Natural Resources. We have just noted that Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries is a new Ministry that has been created. We also have a lot of issues to do with land which may need to be looked at thoroughly at the Committee stage. So, I would propose and second that we may need to look at these Committees and if need be, simplify and reduce them to appropriate sizes for Senators to discharge their duties.
