    "content": "affirmation by Members of Parliament of the Senate says, among other things, that we will bear true allegiance to the people of the Republic of Kenya, and that we will obey, respect, uphold, preserve, protect and defend this Constitution of the Republic of Kenya, and will faithfully and conscientiously discharge the duties of Members of Parliament; we then pray, “So, help me God”. The import of this Constitution is that Parliament has a duty to defend and protect the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya. It means also that all Members of Parliament, without exception, have a duty to obey, respect, uphold, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.
