    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to start by congratulating my colleague who has just presented the Petition. I think it was a dark day in our history where Members of Parliament, despite the Powers and Privileges Act, were arrested within the precincts of Parliament and one of them had been presiding on the Chair. I think we owe it to the family of the late hon. Jean Marie Seroney and to the surviving hon. Martin Shikuku, at least, to register an apology. It would be great if it was done right here in the House and any matter of reparations can be taken up. It is a time for reparations and recommendations on what to do whether through the Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) or any other avenue. However, this is the right time to make a clean break with our dark past. I beg to support."
