"content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I am aware there are unpaid sitting allowances in respect of Olenguruone Land District Tribunal members. (b) Members of the Olenguruone Land Dispute Tribunal that are owed money in terms of sitting allowance are as follows:- Elly Langat â Kshs34,200; Susan Sitonik(deceased), Kshs31,800, Timothy Ngâeny, Kshs20,400, Richard Koros, Kshs9,600, Samuel Bett, Kshs38,400, Emily Simutei, Kshs43,800, Paul Kirui, Kshs22,000, Moses Mutai, Kshs62,400, Joshua Chepkwony, Kshs25,800, James Kosgei, Kshs60,000, Paul Kero, Kshs22,200. A sum of Kshs21,946,456 was factored in the Supplementary Budget Estimates to cater for arrears owed to members of land dispute tribunals across the country. (c) Members of the Olenguruone Land Dispute Tribunal will be paid before the end of 2010/2011 Financial Year, alongside other members, once the amount requested is received from Treasury. On the payment of the accrued interest on the amount to be paid, the Land Disputes Tribunal Act, Cap.18 of 1990 does not provide for the same. In this regard, the Ministry will not pay interest on arrears owed to the members."
