This is because I believe the Motion before us, which has just been moved by the able Chair of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, is based on the NCIC Act, 2008. I have difficulties whether we should proceed with this Motion without amending this Act. My argument is based on two reasons, the first one is with regard to Section 19 of the Act, which states that the Chairperson and the Commissioners shall hold office for a term of three years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for one further term of three years.
