    "content": "Thank you, hon. Speaker, for the opportunity to contribute. From the outset, I want to say that I support the list. I do so with a lot of hope that for once we are seeing a situation where in the history of this country we are not only looking at women as constituting only one-third. We are moving in the right direction because we are moving towards meeting the half-half requirement. When I look at this list I realize that it basically adheres to the issue of gender which is a very serious constitutional requirement. That is why I want to support and thank the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs. The Constitution of this country clearly identifies and recognizes the issue of persons with disabilities. I am happy that this is a requirement that was considered by the Committee. I want to talk about the issue of youth which is very prudent. When you look at this list and the person who has been listed to represent the young people, Belinda Akoth at 37 years, I think for once we are moving in the right direction. We are moving against the traditional way of thinking that we always have to have old, tired and recycled people."
