"content": "I always like putting things into perspective. The East African Community (EAC), Kenya among them, has just adopted an industrial policy that is anchored on the construction industry. Countries like Tanzania and Kenya are seeking to build the capacity of the local industry. The regulations, as made, are very sound to the extent that they seek to build the capacity of the local firms. You cannot be seeking to build the capacity of the local firms and, at the same time, you want to overcharge, overtax them or make it difficult for them to operate, especially in the villages."
