    "content": "The Statement from the Cabinet Secretary is as follows. On the night of 26th October, 2013, the Officer-in-Charge of Maralal Police Station received information that 23 heads of cattle believed to have been stolen by armed Turkana raiders at Suyan on 2nd October, 2013 were being transported by a lorry from Marti towards Maralal. The OCS instructed his offices to intercept the lorry and bring it to the station together with the suspected stolen animals. Subsequently, the officers arrested three suspects who were later charged in court vide Police Case File No.CR720/173/2013. On 29th October, 2013, 15 members of the Turkana community from Marti visited Maralal Police Station and claimed that they were the ones who sold the animals to the suspects and that the cattle were not stolen as alleged. They identified the animals and recorded statements."
