    "content": "Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this chance. I will speak from the point of a practising legal practitioner. I have seen occasions where the law is very clear that the interest in this matter is that of the child. That is the paramount interest in all these pieces of legislation. While at it we must also again appreciate that at times we have seen some parents rush to these courts. Basically, one could be on a fishing expedition and two, and with a lot of respect to some of them, on a gold fishing expedition, like gold diggers. You will find a situation where even a well off spouse goes to court for maintenance of that child. You will find a lady asking for maintenance sum of Kshs90,000 per month and then you wonder what you are supposed to do as a man. Is this money going to be given to the child or who is it going to be given to?"
