Senators, I want to bring your attention to Standing Order No.68(5) which says:- “If a majority of all the county delegations of the Senate vote to uphold any impeachment charge, the Governor shall cease to hold office. Here you read “Governor” as “Deputy Governor.” Further, Standing Order No.68(6) says:- “If a vote in the Senate fails to result in the removal of the Governor, the Speaker of the Senate shall notify the Speaker of the concerned county assembly accordingly and the Motion by the assembly for the removal of the Governor on the same charges may only be reintroduced to the Senate after the expiry of three months from the date of such vote.” So, the reading of this is that none of these have sustained the impeachment charges. The Motion is, therefore, lost."
