    "content": "Hon. Speaker, I beg to move:- THAT, the Protection Against Domestic Violence Bill, 2013 be read a Second Time. This is a very important Bill. The Committee had time to deliberate on this matter. We have received sufficient memoranda from the public as required by the Constitution. We have considered those memoranda that were received from members of the public. As a Committee, we are proposing to make several amendments which we will move in the Third Reading. For purposes of Second Reading I would like us to highlight the Bill generally. This Bill seeks to recognize that domestic violence in all its forms, whether perpetrated within or without a domestic or dwelling house is unacceptable behavior. It also provides for the intervention of courts to reduce and prevent violence in domestic The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
