    "content": "Therefore, as we debate this Bill, we have to be very careful on whom we are giving powers because powers can be abused. However, the Bill is generally good because it provides for the procedure that one can use to obtain protection orders. As you read newspapers every day, you see headlines like “ Man hacks wife, turns knife to self” . In some cases we read that a man has completely mutilated or completely destroyed an entire family. So, it is an important Bill because it provides that anybody can apply for protection orders. Everybody has been given a locus standi by this Bill to apply for protection orders on one’s own behalf and on behalf of any other person. Particularly where children are concerned, you can apply for protection orders even without the consent of the child.
