    "content": "Hon. Speaker, the Marriage Act which we passed in this House recognises three different types of marriages. We have the Christian marriage, the Islamic marriage and traditional marriage or customary marriage. For consistency, where we have customary marriages we can leave them to the village elders who can resolve some of these issues. I know time is not on our side. It is a good Bill. We support it but when it comes to the Committee of the whole House, we are going to bring some amendments so that we do not encourage people to remain single. Any young lady or young man looking at this Bill will not get married. So, we must amend it so that we can encourage people to get married so that we have good family values and we have a good Kenya."
