The information sought here relates to legal issues about prisons, and not the administrative matters of a prison that would fall under the Committee that the good Chairperson, hon. Abongotum, chairs. I would request, really in keeping with the mandate of the Departmental Committees, that this being a legal issue, it goes to the Departmental Committee of Justice and Legal Affairs. Indeed, the consideration around issues like the Power of Mercy and how the determination in question is treated are matters for the Departmental Committee on Justice Legal Affairs."
