Temporary Deputy Chairman, this is a good proposal by the Committee in the sense that at times, after conviction in criminal proceedings, it becomes a little bit rough for the victim to pursue compensation through a civil process. We have seen situations where, immediately after conviction, the court file cannot be traced for purposes of getting the court proceedings and filing for civil proceedings. Therefore, restitution, at the point where there is a conviction, is very important because it saves a lot of trouble, judicial time, the victim’s time and expenses. We should just have a one-off resolution of the dispute before the court of law."
