It started with the colonialists who felt that pastoralists, given their nomadic lifestyle, were so independent that they could not be manipulated. They have the milk and meat. They have no interface with sedentary life. They felt these were people who were hard to manage and govern. So, they decided to shoot and kill their animals in order to subjugate them."
