Speaker, on several occasions, the Government has committed to increase the number of police officers by 10 per cent every year in order to attain the globally accepted ratio of police officers to the population. This noble commitment is severely affected by this injunction at a time the country is facing the twin threats from criminals and terrorists. I, therefore, wish to urge the Judiciary to consider the implications of ex parte injunctions especially those touching on national security and in the spirit of national hold and patriotism.
