"content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I feel very concerned about the answer by the hon. Assistant Minister. It raises very serious issues about how to handle junior police officers. The orderly rules for police officers are being used by seniors to injure juniors most of the time in a situation where a junior police officer is found to have committed an offence. If you look at the answer of the Assistant Minister, both these Nigerians and the police officer could have been guilty of the offence. They offered the money to him; he seems to have accepted. But if there is evidence disclosed that there was a criminal offence that was committed, why did the police not opt to charge this police officer in a court of law where all these modalities could be looked at instead of dealing with him through his senior?"
