Senators, you must agree to be advised legally by this Committee so that we can make decisions that are sound both legally and then deal with the political ramifications when we are not in this Chamber. Eventually, although we are politicians, we have been given a mandate to legislate as lawmakers. If we cannot speak and make pronouncements of law, then we have no business sitting in this Senate and spending tax payers’ money. We might as well look for something else to do. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, with those few remarks, I beg to move this Motion as amended under Standing Order No.49 and ask the Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Sen. Sang, to second the Motion. Thank you."
