    "content": "Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. It will be critical to have further clarification from the Chair on Justice and Legal Affairs Committee. This is because last time we had a stalemate on this. If we read the Memorandum from His Excellency the President, he mentioned that the words “executive responsibility” be removed because it is tantamount to discrimination. In this case, it applies to elected hon. Members of Parliament. The recommendation was that they go on half pay until the matter has been determined. That confusion was there and hon. Members wanted clarification. This issue; “with executive responsibility” particularly the State officers, for instance, the hon. Members of Parliament who are elected and who are also State officers and public officers--- The moment you remove the element of executive responsibility, hon. Members thought it is touching on the elected leaders. What the Chairman of Justice and Legal Affairs Committee should have done was to clarify further so that they can understand better. Thank you.
