I beg to move:- THAT, clause 10 of the Bill be amended in subclause (4) by inserting the words “with due regard to personal safety and health” immediately after the word “sex”; We are proposing that when police or warders are undertaking searches, particularly those of the opposite sex as indicated in the law, the persons who are carrying out those searches must use gloves and not bare hands. Otherwise, they might cause infections to the persons particularly when they touch their private parts as they carry out searches. We want to ensure there is hygiene and decency. You must use gloves and not bare hands because you might infect the person with bacteria that you might possibly be carrying in your hands. Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady."
