"content": "that is even worse than what Mugo Wairimu and Omosa have been posting. I want to urge the Chairman of the Committee on Information and Technology, the distinguished Senator for Nyeri - he does not even need a formal complaint to rein in these characters – to respond to the Media Council and have these blogs pulled down, so that society can have civility. The hatred that you see laced with ethnic-thinking is dangerous for this country. Yesterday many Senators spoke here, including Sen. Khalwale and the Senator for Mandera. They said, and I agree with them, that the problem in this country is not religion. The problem is the insecurity caused by criminals that the State is unable to handle. When somebody starts thinking in the manner we are seeing, it becomes very dangerous. You have a duty constitutionally in law, in fact, and as a human being to protect and defend the safety and interests of each and every Member of this House, regardless of our political persuasion. I urge you to come out very strongly on this because anything less can lead to disastrous consequences and we do not want to go that direction. This recklessness has happened in other countries and the results have been disastrous. You may recall that the First World War did not start by one country invading another. It started by some lunatic gypsy shooting a prince in Austria. That started the World War II. A spark can light a fire that can consume everything in its wake."
