"content": "The most important thing is to appreciate what the two committees have done, and in this particular case the PIC. They tabled Reports so that we can update the information we have; if there is any follow-up to make, we do it. If you stay for so many years and you are reporting on something that happened many years ago, it is extremely difficult to take action. Even if you wanted to take action against those who were manning the institutions, some of them have already left while others live in deplorable conditions, so that even if you followed them, you would not be able to recover what has disappeared. The problem with PIC is that, although it examines public investments, it is post-mortem. It deals with things that have already happened."
