    "content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I beg to move that the Natural Resources (Benefit Sharing) Bill (Senate Bill No. 34 of 2014) be read a Second Time. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, you will recall that on 26th June, 2013, a Committee was put into place after a Motion was moved before this House regarding the issue of benefit sharing of natural resources. Having considered and knowing that each of the counties in this country have enormous natural resources, and given the fact that there is no system in place to ensure that there is an equitable share of those resources across both the county level and the community level, therefore, it is important to support this Bill. This Bill suggests that a possibility be put across so that we can find a format where communities and counties can actually get a very direct analysis and find a way to have the natural resources benefitting them.
