"content": "whole year. The insecurity will still continue. We urge the Government – which seems to be taking action – to continue taking action which is visible, practicable and which is beneficial to the Kenyan people. Firing people does not solve the problem. Personally, I want to appreciate the work that has been done by the former IG. That position is not a cup of tea. To deal with a corrupt system is, indeed, very challenging. The entire police system is corrupt and you are expected to perform better as if you are an angel. This cannot work. I hope that with the new development, changes will take place. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Government for appointing some homeguards in Laikipia where we border Samburu, Isiolo and Baringo. All these areas have their own security. We appreciate that they have taken some steps to hire some homeguards for us. Finally, I want to thank the staff of the Senate who have really worked hard. They have been very concerned about what the Senate does, particularly for the last two years. I like talking to every person and, therefore, I know what is going on. I appreciate their work. Through the Chair, I would like the Speaker to be informed that we are very grateful for what is happening now between the Senate and the “Lower House”."
