"content": "In the Constitution, under Article 241(3)(a), the responsibility of the KDF is clearly spelt out. It is responsible for the defence and protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kenya. That is done by men and women who put their lives on the line. For that reason, it is why today we are asking questions on Kismayu, Mandera, Wajir, and on our borders. Why is Kenya not safe and yet we have troops out there? Through this Bill, we crystallise the service of those Kenyans out there; that their service is not in vain. I want to hastily add that out there, already there are some benefits that come with service in the KDF.
