    "content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) Yes, I am aware that wool farming is one of the sources of livelihood to the people of Marakwet, with a wool sheep population of 141,582. (b) I am also aware that the per unit cost of wool production is higher than the earnings to the farmers in that particular region. On average, a sheep produces between 1.5 to 2.5 kilogrammes of wool per year in that particular district, while it is supposed to be 4.5to 6.5 kilogrammes per year annually, in other parts of the country and in the world. Thus, the per unit cost is higher than the earnings in Marakwet. That situation is attributed to the following factors:-"
