Members, as you are aware, I committed the Message containing the notification of the nomination to the Committee on Appointments, which is to report back to the House on the approval or rejection of the nomination of the Member for Kajiado Central, as per our Standing Orders. Once the Report is tabled, Article 122 (3), of the Constitution shall operate to preclude the Member from participating in any voting on the issue of his own nomination. That is the same Article that bars the Speaker from voting, even if there is a tie."
