Speaker, on the outset and without anticipating debate, this is the business of the House’s coming week subject to approval by the House of the Motion on Alteration of the Calendar of the House. On Tuesday, the House will deliberate on the Annual Report to Parliament on the Progress made in Fulfillment of the International Obligations of the Republic by His Excellency the President. Two, the Report by the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade on the Privatisation of the Public Sector Owned/Controlled Sugar Companies. On the same day, the House will consider the Second Reading of the Private Security Regulations Bill 2014, the Business Registration Service Bill 2014 and the Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines Bill 2014. Hon. Speaker, the House Business Committee (HBC) has also given priority to the Motion on the Report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for the Financial Years 2010/2011, 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 and a special Report of the Public Investments Committee (PIC) on the Procurement of Independent Consultants for the Design, Review and Construction Supervision for the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Mombasa to Nairobi. Also scheduled for Second Reading next week are various Senate Bills including the Political Parties (Amendment) Bill and the two Bills proposing to amend the County Governments Act. We also hope to conclude the Senate amendments to the Public Procurement and Disposal (Amendment) Bill, 2013. Regarding the Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) appearing before committees on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, the schedule is as follows:- One, the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure, will appear at 10.00 a.m. before the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing to answer Questions from hon. Nkaissery, the nominee for Cabinet Secretary, Interior and Coordination of National Government; hon. Bernard Shinali, MP and hon. Wilberforce Ottichilo, MP, in the National Assembly Chamber. Two, the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Science and Technology, will appear at 11.30 a.m. before the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology to answer Questions from the following Members:- Hon. Francis Mwangangi, MP, hon. Cecilia Ng’etich, MP, hon. Isaac Mwaura, MP, hon. Kenneth Okoth, MP and the Question by Private Notice from hon. Francis Munyua Waititu, MP., in the National Assembly Chamber. Then finally, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade will appear at 10.00 a.m. before the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations to answer Questions from hon. Patrick Musimba, MP, hon. Moses Injendi, MP, hon. Sunjeev Birdi, MP and a Question by Private Notice by hon. Abdullahi Diriye, MP, in the County Hall Mini Chamber. Finally, hon. Speaker, the HBC will meet on Tuesday, 9th December, 2014 at the rise of the House to consider Business for the rest of the week. I now wish to lay the Statement on the Table of the House.
