    "content": "The Budget Policy Statement, whose recommendations and report we are today discussing, is part of the budget-making process. It is also a part of a policy tool which ensures that the citizens of this country feel properly represented, and that the Members of Parliament they have elected to come here and oversee the taxes they contribute to the Exchequer ensure that those taxes are well appropriated and utilised. Indeed, Parliament has the power of the purse. Parliament is the one which is tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that the resources of the nation are equitably appropriated and distributed to ensure that every part of this Republic feels that it is part and parcel of the Government."
