Speaker, however, even with these efforts, the country still remains in the list of the 22 high-burdened countries in the world, and is ranked fourth in Africa after South Africa, Nigeria and Ethiopia. There is need for the Government to put more effort in Tuberculosis (TB) control to ensure the country is off this “infamous list”, and reducing Tuberculosis incidences to zero. Last year, the Government sponsored a delegation of Members of Parliament from this House, that is hon. (Dr.) Pukose, hon. Murgor and myself, to attend the World Conference on Lung Health in Barcelona, Spain."
