When recently we were building a new hotel in Parklands area, there was an application from the investor to be allowed to bring in some expatriates to help with some specialized jobs. I asked myself, what could be these specialized jobs that a foreigner would be required to do on a hotel building? When I enquired, I found out that sometimes when you are buying equipment, whether cooling equipment in the kitchen, or air conditioning or many other little things that are bought, you agree with the supplier that he will fix them and commission them. If they do not work, you do not pay him."
