Speaker, I beg to move the following Motion:- THAT, pursuant to the provisions of Section 13 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, this House resolves to extend the period for consideration of the nominees for appointment as Commissioners to the Judicial Service Commission by further ten (10) days, from 20th March, 2015. This arises as a result of the Communication that you made to this House last Thursday, 12th March, 2015, in which you committed two nominees for vetting by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee. Under Section 15 of the Judicial Service Act, 2011, the National Assembly is required to consider the nominees and either approve or reject them within seven days. As you stated clearly and since you have better wisdom than some of us, you indicated to us that in the event that the time that has been given to us is short, we could come back to the House to seek extension of time."
