"content": "On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also read the same headlines. I comforted myself and said that perhaps this was an issue of misinformation and that somebody had been misquoted. I cannot decipher a situation where a Speaker of any Parliament or even a county assembly has been quoted or attributed to such comments. I believe and hope that in your response this was a case of the media being misinformed. This is unfathomable. It cannot be imagined that anybody sitting in your position, whether as a Temporary Speaker or even in the National Assembly, one can give directions or orders to anybody. It is also envisaged that the Bill that came from the National Assembly can be rejected in this House. It could also go through mediation or it can collapse or have its deadline pass. Someone can also petition the courts. In the same provision of Article 261, the court can extend some time so that we talk about issues. All those provisions are there.
