I want to reiterate the fact that the Office of the Auditor-General is one of those constitutional offices that are independent as provided for in the Constitution. It is important that we allow this office to exercise the independence that the Constitution intends it does. I must also point out that the current holder of this office happens to have brought into this very important office a lot of reforms and corporate discipline. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, this country has lacked development because of the amount of money that continues to be siphoned every year through loopholes that have been created deliberately by people who are hell bent on looting public funds.
