    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to also comment on this Bill. I listened very carefully to the Senate Majority Leader when he was elaborating on this Bill and I heard most of the legal issues that he raised. This country, as most Senators have mentioned in this House, has had laws since Independence. The biggest problem has been the selfishness of the people who are charged with the responsibility of protecting the environment. The cancer that is the so- called corruption has impeded all the avenues of dealing with issues in this country. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, you said that the environment, just like water, is life. We have lost almost everything, including water, in this country. The environmental degradation in this country is as rampant as corruption.
