    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Pursuant to Senate Standing Order No.45(2)(b), I wish to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights regarding the circumstances surrounding the resignation of Prof. Jane Onsongo as a Commissioner in the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). In the Statement, the Chairperson should clarify the following:- (1) State the reasons for the resignation of Prof. Onsongo. (2) Explain the work dynamics in the Commission and specifically the working relationships between the Commissioners and the Secretariat, headed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). (3) Explain measures being taken to ensure that the resignation of Prof. Onsongo, one of the Commissioners, will not undermine the work of the Commission and, The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate."
