"content": "Thank you, hon. Speaker. Allow me to thank the Mover for giving me the two minutes. I want to register my thanks to the President. While I believe you do not need to belabor the point on the Speech because it was well articulated, the issues that the President spoke about is what the Jubilee Government has done, although in this country the leader of the Opposition has a duty to always look north while the Government looks south. So, he can, of course, say there is nothing the Government has done. I want talk about the EACC and encourage the President to stand firm because everyone in this country is behind him. We all want to fight corruption. However, the tragedy in this country is the EACC. I am not sure of the capacity of this Commission. I see a lot of incompetence. Just yesterday, we witnessed the EACC go all the way to Murang‘a to arrest a governor for an alleged bounced cheque yet they have 175 cases on their table. Kenyans want to believe that they can handle cases. My worry is that if this Commission is going to lose the battle, thieves and corrupt people will get away with it and they will create a loophole for the thieves who have stolen in this country. It is my prayer that they rise above the occasion and even prove to Kenyans that they have the capacity. As Members, we need to watch this Commission particularly those who are making the report and see if they have the capacity. Thank you."
