"content": "medical scheme which can take care of them and their families. They need to have some kind of insurance which, again, should be in-built in this scheme of service. Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, we have many categories of these workers in the schools. If you look at the kind of job they do, they are trained people. If you look at the matrons in schools, these are people who are trained. However, their counterparts who are working in other institutions; either Government or private sector, have some kind of scheme of service. When they get to schools here, they do not have it. One of my colleagues has talked about Alliance High School. We have old schools like Kenya High School and Mangâu High School. If you go to these schools, the women who are working in the dormitories looking after our daughters are the same ones who have been working there for more than 40 years. They take a lot of care of these children. However, when they retire, we are only notified through a letter that so-and-so has retired. We are asking in that letter to give some small donation, if we so wish. It is voluntary to do so. We want something which can give them assurance that when they retire, they will get their pension. That gives them confidence and time to concentrate on the work that they are doing. With those few remarks, I beg to support."
