Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 74 of the Bill be amended in Sub-clause (2) by deleting paragraph (f) and substituting therefor the following new paragraph— ―(f) a contract subsisting between the Kenya National Audit Office and any other person before the commencement of this Act shall continue to exist as a contract entered into between the office of the Auditor-General and that other person‖. I was in the process of requesting hon. Ochieng‘ to step down his amendment in favor of mine. In addition to what he is proposing, the Committee is specifically making a transitional clause for any contract that existed before this law to continue upon the enactment of this law. Those contracts are live and not cancelled as per the proposal that was there in the Bill. My proposal is a better one."
