    "content": "I am sorry, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I was consulting the Chairman of PIC. I wish to support this Report on Telkom Kenya. I believe what the Committee has recommended is very good; it is with regard to how Telkom Kenya was privatised. Privatisation has gone wrong in this country because France Telecom has taken undue advantage of the shareholding of Telkom Kenya, and the shareholding of the Government in Telkom Kenya has been reduced over the years. It is surprising that the Government has to pay a lot of money to restructure the company, yet most of the things that should have been done could have been done easily. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Government needs to come up with ways on how it is going to get back its shareholding without injecting any more funds into Telkom Kenya, because that is not the solution. We could be injecting funds into Telkom Kenya every year when the Government of Kenya is reducing its shareholding.
