    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I have a Petition directed to the Departmental Committee on Lands. It reads as follows:- I, the undersigned, on behalf of the residents of Pongwe area in Lunga Lunga Constituency of Kwale County, do the draw the attention of the House to the following:- That, aware that on the advent of colonial administration in Kenya, many families were displaced from their lands to pave way for construction of colonial government facilities and settlement for white settlers; THAT, on 11th June, 1910, the British Crown alienated 320.12 acres of land from the residents of Pongwe and granted it to Mr. Charles Anduson as LR. No. 1083 in Shimoni Kwale on leasehold basis; THAT, the locals who were rendered landless have since lived on this land as squatters for over eighty years; The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
