    "content": "Thank you very much, hon. Deputy Speaker. I stand to support the Motion as amended. I would like to say that before the amendment, I was not comfortable supporting this Motion, but if the ancestral lands acquired compulsorily for purposes of setting up these factories are protected, I will be very much willing to support the Motion to privatise the factories. That means that whoever comes in to own the factories will keep them running for the purpose of assisting the farmers who grow sugar- cane in those areas. The sugar industry has been bedeviled by a lot of problems. Some of the problems facing the sugar industry are actually administrative or systemic political problems.
