    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise on a point of order under Standing Order No. 23 that provides that any hon. Member may at any time rise in his or her place and seek leave to move the adjournment of the House for the purpose of discussing a definite matter of urgent national importance. Mr. Speaker, Sir, while heading to this House this afternoon, many of us ran into groups of Kenyans demonstrating and expressing their disaffection with a scenario that is one that this House cannot ignore. That is a scenario over the sharp rise in the price of fuel which has caused a domino effect to the extent that the cost of living is spiraling out of control for the ordinary Kenyan. I plead with the Chair and this House to take note of this development and set aside time for this House to ventilate on this matter with a view of focusing national energy and attention on this matter so that we can find a solution. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir."
